Guide Dog Experience Days
Following on from the success of our Family Guide Dog Experience Days in 2011, the National Blind Children’s Society would once again like to invite children with a visual impairment and their immediate families to attend some Family Guide Dogs Experience Days in 2012. These are days when the whole family can experience what it could be like to own a guide dog at some point in the future.
Our first confirmed event will take place on Saturday 19 May at the Guide Dog Training Centre in Atherton, Manchester, and will include welcome introductions by both NBCS and GD, a tour of the Training Centre including a practical hands-on guide dog experience for all the family and a question and answer session.
Refreshments will also be provided for everyone and we hope it will be a fun and informative experience for all the family. Two sessions will be running, from 10.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 4.30pm. We can take five families to each session.
We will also be holding Family Guide Dog Experience Days for NBCS families in Leamington Spa, Cardiff, Edinburgh and London during 2012 – dates will be published as soon as we have them.
