Jenson suit sells at auction
One of Formula One 2009 World Champion Jenson Button’s winning racesuits has been auctioned to benefit the National Blind Children’s Society.
Jenson is a long-standing vice-president of NBCS. Just after winning the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul last year, he signed one of his Brawn GP race suits and presented it to Chief Executive Carolyn Fullard at the Silverstone Racing Circuit in Northamptonshire.
The suit was auctioned at the Autosport International Racing Car Show at the National Exhibition Centre,
Miguel said: ‘It was a pleasure to bid for and win this wonderful item from such a great driver and for such a worthy cause. It is great that Jenson takes time out his hectic schedule to work with NBCS and for that alone he deserves praise.’
Jenson Button said: ‘I am delighted to continue my support for the work that the NBCS does to help children with visual impairment and their families. In Formula One, you need the support of a fantastic team to achieve your ambitions. That’s why I’m involved with NBCS. It’s about winners – children who are blind or visually impaired who can be champions every day of their lives.’
