Annual review
If your child has a Statement, his/her school will arrange a meeting at least every 12 months to check progress and that the Statement is still meeting your child's needs.
The purpose of the meeting is to look at the targets for your child last year, and to set new targets for the coming year, and you can take someone to the meeting with you if you wish.
Before the meeting you will receive a letter which will state the:
- Date, time and place of the meeting
- A list of people invited to the meeting
- A form for you to give your views and make any comments you wish
Two weeks before the meeting, your child's school should send copies of all reports received to everyone attending the meeting. This is a legal requirement.
After the meeting, the school will set out your child's new targets and send a report to you and the L.E.A. The L.E.A will then decide whether any changes to your child's Statement are necessary.
